Bothell Integrated Health Massage Clinic is proud to announce our “Sharing The Love” initiative for Valentine’s Day.

This Valentine’s Day Bothell Integrated Health Massage Clinic will make giving the gift of massage feel good many times over. The profits of the sale of all Valentine’s Day themed gift certificates will be donated to a member of our community who needs the citizens of Bothell to stand up for her. A daughter of a former patient has a story that has moved us to create this initiative.

IMAG0752-1

Her name is Tiffanie and here is her story:

Tiffanie was diagnosed with Systemic Onset Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) at the tender age of two. This specific diagnosis is considered the rarest, most aggressive form of JIA, which comprises only ten percent of all JIA cases. For Tiffanie, now eleven years old, the progression of this disease has taken its toll. Daily life means coping with chronic pain, limited mobility and decreased endurance of normal childhood activities.
Coping with the long-term impact of arthritis will be a life long battle for Tiffanie, a battle which would be managed more easily with the help of a service dog. This dog will spend 1-2 years being specially trained for Tiffanie’s needs and will accompany her at all times after the dog graduates the intense training program. Additionally, the cost will cover Tiffanie’s classes, which will teach her how to work with her dog correctly.

Julie Johnson is Tiffanie’s mother:  “A few years ago I was seriously injured in a car accident, and suffered from whiplah. Thanks to the highly trained and experienced staff at Bothell Integrated Health, my pain was alleviated and my body was able to heal. Once again, I am grateful to BIH for their dedication to their patients and the community, as they have been by my family’s side during every step of our fundraising efforts. ”

BJ Erkan, from Bothell Integrated Health massage clinic: “We are fortunate to have such fine people as Tiffanie and her mother Julie as members of our community, and as such, they are deserving of our best effort. It is our hope that this initiative will help achieve the goal of getting a service dog for Tiffanie. We want everyone who purchases a Valentine’s Day gift certificate for massage to know that they can feel good about their gift for more than one reason, and the recipients of the gift certificates can feel good about feeling good.”
